How to Treat Male Erection problems with Modern Drugs
In most men, it’s usually on getting older that one encounters such issues as problems with erections. However, problems with erections can occur at any point in life. The main two ways in which this occurs is a) there’s no hardening of the penis at all or b) the penis turns flaccid soon after it engorges. The causes could be both physical and/or psychological. But, whatever the cause, there are solutions available that will assist in sorting out an erection problem in males.
The penis contains an enclosing section called the ‘corpus cavernosa’ which contains a sponge like tissue or muscle. There is another containing section called the ‘tunica albuginea’ which surrounds the ‘corpus cavernosa’. Then a man is aroused through either mental or physical stimulation, the ‘corpus cavernosa’, which is the inner chamber relaxes. This causes blood to enter into and fill up the spongy tissue, causing the penis to engorge and harden.
How does this happen? Well, muscles such those within the penis contain an enzyme called Phosphodiesterase-5 or PDE5. This enzyme causes the tissue within the ‘corpus cavernosa’ to tense in a manner that does not allow blood to fill up the tissue. However when the Phosphodiesterase-5 enzyme is inhibited either through brain instruction or through artificial means, the ‘corpus cavernosa’ automatically fills up with blood becoming instantly engorged and hardened. The opposite happens when the brain reengages the PDE5 enzyme, or an artificial inhibitor wears off.
There are a number of artificial PDE5 enzyme inhibitors available in the market today. These are available through their generic names or may be identified by their brand names. Some of these are sildenafil which can be found under the brand Viagra, then there’s tadalafil of which a popular brand is Cialis and there’s also vardenafil which can be found at pharmacists branded Levitra. It is important to remember the generic name since these may be found under different brand names too.
